Up date
Since my blog still gets read ever now and then, I thought I would give everyone a update.
My son has been out of prison for about 4 years now. He spent 10 months behind those bars. It was a long 10 months for him and for me. I do know others have been in prison a lot longer then my son. My hearts goes out to each one.
I am now the Director of a State advocacy group. We testify in front of our local congressman to tell them our stories and to present them with studies that shows that the laws that we have in place are not working. If you want to join in this fight with us. RSOL is the national group you can look up to see if your state has a contact person for you to talk to.
My son is doing fine. He is now 26 and is the assistant manager of a convenient store. He is saving his money to buy a house soon. I am very proud of him. It is not the life, I wish for him, which is one reason I fight these laws, For him and other like him.
I am the proud mother of two kids. A daughter going to college and a son who is a Sex Offender. I love both of them with all my heart. I am learning how to be strong so I can fight for the rights my son had taken away from him, at such a young age.
